I have to admit — I never really looked at Instagram. I felt that I had the right social media platforms working for my business, connected to my business and was thriving with them… You know the ones — Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest. So, I just didn’t really pay attention much when InstaGram came out. THEN — I went to Live the Dream V in Austin and met the Queen of Instagram and started seeing it in a whole new light.
She put together an incredible training for (FREE) business leaders that want to attract new customers, business partners and leads. Her webinar was eye-opening.
I use an Android phone and even though it is supposedly “SMART”, in my hands it feels a bit dumb. My kids move faster on the phone than I can. I felt clumsy trying to post or do much other than email and texting and phone calls on the phone… BUT, in the training I learned about some very cool apps that make posting to Instagram easier and prettier. I learned about what I need to have on my profile and how to do that.
There are even apps that can help provide you with much needed content.
Okay, so I am still a newbie on Instagram, but let me share what I am seeing.
When I joined — immediately people were following me. IMMEDIATELY. When I connect with people there — there is relationship building that happens. This is the same with every social media platform there is. It is about relationship.
BUT, as I went through the training I found that there were ways to automate some of that as well. Build up a network and still make it real.
Streamlining your lead generating is an important strategy in social networking. But it is also critical that you are real and authentic.
Instagram becomes a new place to share your business, but also share inspiration, motivation and pieces of yourself. People follow people. They want to connect with real people.
