Mobile Content Marketing is Simple

mobilephoneFour super simple ways to make your content mobile

There are some really simple ways that you can go mobile with your content marketing that you might not have considered.

1. Create an app — You can hire a programmer easily enough on O’Desk, Elance, Shelancers, and a variety of other places to create an app for mobile devices that assists your customers in some way to either do a task, or read your content, or something entirely new that is branded by you. There are even services that allow you to take an existing app and change it and brand it for your clients at a reasonable fee.

2. Deliver content digitally — Sign up to deliver your content via iTunes and Amazon.com, it’s easy to do, and doesn’t require too many changes over what you are now doing. You can do voice, video and PDF via iTunes and PDF via Amazon.com. You’re already making, text, audio and video of your print content, why not distribute it another way.

3.Mobile Advertising — Once you put your content on mobile devices if you have a big enough following you can sign up for mobile advertising. This won’t work for everyone, but if you have a big following it will.

4. The freebie — We all know the power of FREE in the Internet marketing world. You can make any of the above a free ad on to those who purchase your traditional eReports, eBooks, and White Papers. Both Amazon.com and Apple store allow for coupon codes to be created so that your clients can download free content.

By doing one or all of these simple ideas you can expand your content marketing reach to the mobile content marketplace, keep your place in the Internet marketing world, and increase your ROI substantially.

BizologyBuzz Radio: How to Get Free Publicity for Your Business

BizologyBuzz Radio’s Host Donna Price, Welcomes Special Guest: Caryn Starr-Gates to share strategies for Free Publicity for Business. http://www.blogtalkradio.com/bizologybuzz

Newton, New Jersey. December 16, 2011:  Donna Price, Business Success Coach, host of BizologyBuzz Talk Radio is excited to be interviewing Caryn Starr-Gates to discuss How to Get Free Publicity for Your Business. As advertising budgets for many businesses shrink, the lure of getting visibility for a business through free publicity grows more attractive. Many companies are turning to “earned media”—the free press they generate to promote their products or services through various media channels—to give them the visibility they are hesitant to pay for through advertising channels.  Earned media is attained when a company is mentioned in a journalist’s story, a respected blogger’s entry, or virally through social networks. If this is an avenue you are exploring for your company there are a few tips to keep in mind.

Caryn Starr-Gates is a freelance copywriter and owner of StarrGates Business Communications (www.starrgates.com), which she launched in 2009.

In a career that spans three decades, her experience includes writing retail fashion copy for regional and national department stores; promoting the launch of CNN, the world’s first 24-hour cable news network; ads and TV and radio spots for Anheuser-Busch, Ralston-Purina and ABC Television; ad campaigns and new product concepts for a diverse array of packaged goods products including children’s cereals, alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, and dog food, as well as banks, schools, airlines, and theme parks. In recent years Caryn has written extensively for lifestyle, education, life safety, food service, financial, retail, and professional services clients. She creates promotional sales copy for marketing materials, newsletter columns, articles, press releases, print and online ads, and website and social media content for her private clients and for those of the advertising, internet marketing, and public relations agencies with whom she works.

Caryn has enjoyed several interim careers between her start in advertising and today, including sous chef and restaurant manager, professional organizer, and gift basket designer and retailer; she has always applied her writing skills to each in unexpected ways. She  is an active member of the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners and is currently serving her second round as the Bergen chapter president; she is also an avid volunteer in the community, working with social service agencies and non-profit charitable organizations to help those in need.

Caryn is the author of a chapter on the topic of “Free Publicity for Your Business” the upcoming book “Jersey Women Mean Business! Big, Bold Business Advice from 100 New Jersey Women Business Owners,” to be published by Woodpecker Press, LLC, in 2012. Listeners can go to www.BigBoldBusiness.com and www.WoodpeckerPress.com for more information.

Generating New Leads: Creating a Reliable System

Lead Generation is a Key to Building a Thriving Business

Entrepreneurs need new leads coming into their business regularly.  Leads or prospects are what turn into customers.  Customers, of course, are the life blood of business.  But what many business have not mastered is the art of creating a reliable system of generating new leads.

There are many lead generation strategies that can be used.  The first step is to systematize your approach.  By creating a system you can track your results more easily.

First, identify the Lead Generation approaches you will use:

  1. Networking (List the groups that you network with)
  2. Speaking
  3. Tele-Seminars/Webinars
  4. Social Media:
    1. Facebook
    2. LinkedIn
    3. FastPitch Networking
    4. E-Cademy
    5. MySpace
    6. Twitter
    7. Merchant Circle
    8. Niche Specific Groups/Forums
  5. Forums
  6. Local Government Records
  7. Writing Articles
  8. Natural Networking through your personal contacts, church, clubs or other organizations, where does natural networking happen for you.
  9. Trade Shows
  10. Website
  11. Email Marketing
  12. Referrals/Word of Mouth
  13. Internet Advertising
  14. Cold Calling
  15. List Buying
  16. Coffee Meetings
  17. Joint Venture or Affiliate Referrals
  18. Advertising (Print, Radio, Television, Cable TV, Info-mercials)

Second create your process for the approach or strategies that you select.  Write out the process so that you can follow each and every time.

Implement each step of the process and track each new lead and contact.

Develop a strategy for what happens with a lead once you have the lead.  What are the follow up steps that you follow?  Document at what point a lead becomes a customer.  Does the process happen predictably?  Evaluate your process and make determinations about what is and is not working.  Make necessary revisions to the process to maximize your results.

When you have a predictable process for generating new leads and converting those leads into clients or customers, THEN, you have a business that you can grow at a rate that you desire.  In essence you can turn the water on and off, or up and down.

You don’t want a pipeline that is overflowing and unmanageable.  That is a waste of time and money. Save the money and the time for when you need the new leads and your business can handle them.

Systematizing your operations gives you a stronger foundation for growth.  When the systems are in place and working well, then you are able to add staff, train staff easily or outsource tasks.  When everything is stored in the head of the owner it makes it very difficult to grow the business in the way that you desire.
